Kenny Dargon

Coach

Dargon 2

Originally from Norwood, Ma. I attended Norwood High School and went on to obtain a Hospitality and Tourism Management degree and MBA from Endicott College..  While at Endicott I was a member of the golf team for four years as well as the club hockey team for four years.  Upon graduating from Endicott in may of 2006 I started my professional career in Finance and joined Fidelity Investments where I’d spend the next seven years.  In September of 2013 I decided to discontinue employment with Fidelity and pursue other career opportunities.

My first exposure to crossfit was in March of 2011 and right from the start knew that it would make an immediate and positive impact on my life.  Nearing the end of 2011 one of the trainers at CFCM held a meeting for anyone interested in being a part of the competition team.  I never imagined how much the next two years of my life would change from simply attending this meeting.  From this point forward I have put forth all efforts to make myself a better crossfitter by becoming healthier and focusing on improving all facets of my strength and fitness goals.  When I graduated college I hated that I didn’t have that competition or sport as part of my life any longer.  Crossfit ended up being the perfect substitute for this.  Not only was I able to improve my health, strength and fitness but I was able to do this while being competitive at the same time.  I quickly came to realize there was far more to Crossfit then just the incredibly awful workouts but even better is the community and friendships that are formed with fellow crossfitters.   In three years I’ve formed amazing friendships with people from all sorts of backgrounds for which I’m extremely grateful.  As I embark on my next chapter with CFCM where I’m very fortunate to train as a Level one coach I’ll be sure to use all past experiences, good and bad, to my advantage in becoming a successful coach.

Elyce Bio Pic

Elyce is a graduate of Worcester State University where she obtained her Degree in Forensic Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health Disorders. Elyce played softball and volleyball while attending Worcester State and continues to play recreational sports in her free time. During her senior year she decided to complete her Personal Training certification and apply the knowledge she had acquired from both personal experiences and research to help others reach their full health and wellness potential. She has been a Certified Personal Trainer for over 4 years and continues to train out of Worcester today.

From 2012-2015 Elyce competed in INBF and WBFF Bikini and Bodybuilding Competitions. “I realized I was working out without any goals and bodybuilding seemed like something I might be interested in.” After years of training, Elyce decided to look for a new outlet in the form of CrossFit. “One of my friends told me to check it out and I was instantly hooked.” A year later, Elyce has competed in multiple local competitions as well as an Intermediate Athlete at Wodapalooza in 2016 and continues to train as a competitive athlete. “One of my favorite things about CrossFit is that although it is competitive, everyone wants everyone else to succeed. I’ve not only grown as an athlete but as an individual and hope to continue this journey for years to come.”

Scott Paddock

Coach

Paddock 2

I was introduced to CrossFit in August of 2009. Before that I was not very athletic and was overweight most of my life. In 2008 is when I decided to do something about my weight so I started running and doing a lot of cardio. I was able to lose weight but I had no strength. CrossFit has helped me to become stronger and healthier. I decided to get my Level 1 Trainers Certification in 2011, and was able to start coaching right after that. When I am not coaching I work at Elevation Exhibits & Events where I am the CAD Director. We design and build trade show exhibits for a number of industries. I am also a husband and father or 3 children. Now that I am more health conscious I hope that I can pass that on to my children and help them to see the benefits of a healthy life style.

Josh Sweares

Coach

Sweares 2

Since I was 16 and joined my first gym, I have always worked out.  My foundation started in bodybuilding and powerlifting.  About 5 years ago I went to a free workout and have never been the same.  After getting completely addicted I decided to take my Lev 1 certification. I’ve always had decent strength but my overall fitness was horrible until I joined Crossfit. I’ve always enjoying pushing myself to the limit and I try to do the same to all I teach.

Dan Sawicki

Coach

Originally from CT, Dan has lived in Worcester since graduating from Assumption College in 2006 where he was a 4 year varsity football player and 2 year captain.  After finishing school Dan’s time dedicated to working out took a steep decline as he began his career in sales at a packaging manufacturer.  In 2008, he became fed up with being overweight and dedicated himself to improving his life and lost 90 lbs.  It was during this time that he found Crossfit and hasn’t looked back.  Dan enjoys the intensity of the workouts along with the great competition and community aspect that they bring.  He is excited to share this passion for fitness and exercise with the community at CFCM.  Dan can be found coaching Saturday classes at CFCM.

Colin Houghton

Coach

Colin Bio Pic

Colin was a Sergeant in The United States Marine Corps, during his Marine Corps career Colin was a member of the Fleet Anti Terrorism Security Team, as well as Second Battalion Third Marines out of Kaneohe Bay Hawaii. Colin was a Squad Leader, Designated Marksman, Combat a Marksmanship Instructor, and a Black Belt Instructor in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program. Colin also received numerous “Iron Man” awards for fitness as well as several Certificates of Accommodation for being the most physically fit Marine in his Regiment of almost 3,000 Marines, which Crossfit is directly responsible for. Colin discovered Crossfit in 2008 when he was visiting his sister in Boston to prepare for the upcoming Wrestling season, his first workout was “The 300 Spartans”, it took nearly 40 minutes and he threw up twice… Ever since then he’s been hooked. Colin was a Wrestler and Boxer all through Middle School, High School and some time after, he was a four time league all star, three time league champion, three time league MVP, two time Head Captain, 2009 Central Mass Sectional Champion, State Runner Up, and a Freestyle All American and New England Champion. He amassed a 137-21 record in high school and has over 100 wins by pin. He also amassed a Boxing record of 11-0. Colin credits Crossfit as being a pivotal part in shaping his athletic career and helping him reach many of his goals, and it was also instrumental in his success in the military. Crossfit’s ideology as well as its methodology are without a doubt the smartest and most effective way to train to become a well rounded, high level athlete. But his favorite part about Crossfit is most definitely the community aspect of it, and how it can be treated as a competitive sport at the highest and most intense levels imaginable, as well as a fun way to train and just get in better shape for everyday life for almost anyone, regardless of their individual goals. Colin has also competed and won several Powerlifting Meets since beginning crossfit, and took 3rd in the American Weightlifting Federation National Championships last July. Colin loves being a Crossfit Coach, and his goal is to learn and develop as much as possible so he can pass on the knowledge and love for fitness and sports he’s accumulated throughout his life, and hopefully help others reach their goals and possibly discover and pursue new goals they never knew they had.
